Today we got to meet Jason our Construction Manager and his partner in the project management activities; Justin. I was grateful that I liked Justin as much as Jason and I have faith that any ups and downs through the duration of this adventure will be in partnership and we won't be left in the dark.
We went and checked out the lot since we were early and well... I have a problem and am addicted! Our permit was back, so the permit box was a new addition to our front yard.

We had a couple of hours, going through the plans and getting to see the exterior drawings to see where window are and such. Justin talked through the steps in the process and the warranties and ways that we can communicate if we have any issues.
I was disappointed that the Master bedroom only has one window on the back wall where we had previously seen two. But the roof of the third garage means the plans have to be adjusted. We moved a couple of things around, like the basement door and windows. We also were able to remove the post from between the breakfast and family room!
The best news was that they would be possibly starting to dig TODAY! Timeframes at the moment are mid Nov - mid Dec. So no reason why we can't be in before Christmas. It is not hopeful, although not impossible that we could be in by Thanks Giving. But I believe one of our neighbors was promised Thanks Giving move in date after signing the same week but a few years before us. They ended up not moving in until closer to Easter than Christmas!
After the meeting we popped back to the lot and were gobsmacked that we have in fact broken ground!!! We now have a maze, as our neighbor Lisa says.
